Presented by the Buidings Worth Saving
Committee of the Atlanta Preservation Center:
2001 List of Endangered Buildings:
Atlanta Public Schools
The Atlanta Public Schools (APS) is
contemplating the future of 11 schools built between 1907and 1932. Some have not
served as schools since the 1970's while others are scheduled to close this
year. The school closings are due to consolidation, declining enrollments,
shifting population, duplication of schools after integration, poor condition or
small acreage.
