2003 List of Endangered Buildings:

Fire Station #11, c. 1907
Address: 30 North Avenue, NW
Owner/Contacts: Jeff Notrica, Inman Park Properties, (404) 365-8274

Threat: Neglect. There have been reports of adaptive uses for the building in the last couple of years, but none have actually materialized. The latest plan, by an Atlanta pub owner, would be to renovate the ground floor for a pub and the top floor for the company’s offices.

Designed by Morgan and Dillon, Architects, the two-story, white brick firehouse is one of the city’s oldest. It was placed in service in 1907 shortly after Walthal Robertson Joyner became mayor of Atlanta. As a former chief of the Atlanta Fire Department (1885-1906), he was dedicated to providing first-rate fire protection to Atlanta residents and was nationally recognized as a leading fire official.
